About Clarinta Travels
This blog started out as a platform to share my journey and helpful travel tips for my friends and family. It’ll always stay true to this purpose, but I hope that anyone else in the world who stumble across it will find it useful too. I believe in not doing the usual touristy things, but I make it a point to travel with a local or stay with a local wherever I go. This makes for more authentic experiences!
What I Do
Nope, my blog is not a source of income. Though really, how do these travel bloggers do it? I’d love to know more 😉
Actually, I started my career as an Art Director at global advertising agencies in Singapore. I was fortunate enough to work on advertising and branding campaigns for cool brands for several years.
After 4 years, I then switched over to a career as a Social Media Manager at a digital agency. I was again, fortunate enough to work on great brands with great clients, managing and curating their social marketing activities.
Before long, I joined an exciting startup in Singapore, managing and overseeing their regional social media marketing activities for 5 APAC countries.
Now, I’m a design & digital marketing consultant. I work remotely on a freelance basis with various clients in various industries. My projects vary from UX design, UI app design, corporate branding, to social media management and digital strategy. I love the flexibility this gives me, and the freedom it lets me have to pursue my passion of traveling.
TL;DR: I’m a design & digital marketing consultant.
I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. Since then, I’ve lived in Australia for nearly 5 years, Singapore for 6 years, and a brief 3 months in Germany.
I have 2 beautiful sisters, and I am the middle child. I recently got engaged to the most amazing person I know.
I spend most of my time in Singapore and Jakarta, where most of my clients are. However, you can find me working out of Bali, Munich or London.
Why I Travel
I’ve been fortunate enough to have been traveling across the world since I was a toddler.”A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.”
As I grew up, I had constant itchy feet. I get claustrophobic when I’m too settled in one place for too long.
I love the adrenaline and thrill that exploring new places, learning new cultures and receiving kindness from strangers brings.
And backpacking solo to Europe led me to meet my current fiance. What’s not to love about travel? 😉
